LUNA Introduces Latest 6415 Optical Device Analyzer

With the issuance of 5G licenses, 5G will be launched from the trial to the trial commercial stage. The trial commercial phase will be more focused on the application side, and more enterprises will be able to participate in the 5G application development. From the perspective of the entire optical fiber transmission, the key components of the next generation ultra-large capacity optical communication system (such as high-speed electric-light, light-- The development, production and application of electric and optical-optical devices, etc., urgently require large-bandwidth, high-precision, high-resolution optical device analyzers and spectrometer response testing techniques as support. Recently, for the leading company of high-speed optical communication system receiving and optoelectronic devices and instrument products, the US LUNA (NASDAQ code LUNA) announced the introduction of the 6415 optical device analyzer. This product is mainly used to analyze passive optical devices and modules, which are fast and easy to operate. The insertion loss (IL) and return loss (RL) distributions, as well as the device length, can be tested for both reflection and transmission modes, using optical frequency domain reflectometry (OFDR) to detect back-to-Rayleigh scattering or transmitted light.
The LUNA6415 is an ideal test tool for photonic integrated circuits and silicon optical chips, thanks to its high sensitivity and spatial resolution (20μm). The LUNA6415 also features a single instrument that can perform all tests such as IL, RL, and length by selecting a reflective or transmissive mode, greatly reducing test costs and simplifying the test process. Compared with other test systems, it will greatly increase the advantages of test yield.
